What Storage Items Are NOT Allowed at Sherman Self Storage?

We want you to find a quick, easy and suitable Sherman self storage unit for all your storage needs. However, please know that there are certain items which we simply cannot allow inside our rental units.

The following list includes but is not limited to items that are strictly prohibited when renting storage space at Sherman Self Storage:

Food and drinks. Please don’t ever, under any circumstances, store food, drinks or any other pest/bug attractant of any kind inside your storage unit. Even if the food/drink is sealed, in a box, plastic bin, etc…this is still not allowed. Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, gum, candy, baking supplies, dry food such as noodles or cereal, powders, coffee grounds, canned food, produce, grandma’s famous homemade casserole….you get the idea.

Additionally, please do not leave food containers, wrappers, fast food bags, beverage containers or trash of any kind on our property. We do have surveillance, and if we find you littering, bringing food into or leaving food outside your unit, your account will incur a $50 fee.

Flammable items such as gasoline/fuel, kerosene, motor oil, oil based paints, etc…basically nothing that can easily catch on fire. If storing a vehicle, we ask that you check out our blog on Kent County vehicle storage.

Firearms, fireworks or any other explosive. These items are illegal to store in your storage unit and are strictly prohibited, even if obtained legally..

Anything living such as animals, plants, humans, etc.. If you have to feed it or water it, please don’t store it. We’re hoping this one is self explanatory.

Anything illegal. This includes anything stolen, drugs of any kind, or any stolen drugs (prescription or non prescription) of any kind. Please obey the law and don’t store illegal items at our storage facility. Again, please be aware that we have over 40 cameras covering our entire property. Footage can be easily accessed in the case of suspected illegal activity.

Now that we have covered what you can and cannot store inside your storage unit, please know that any cars left outside of your unit unattended will be promptly towed at the owner’s expense.

Thank you for respecting our rules and our property. If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at (231)683-2003.
